The production of kula carpets underwent radical changes in the first decades of the XX century and they became widely diffused, as a result of which the popular image is that Kulas are bright carpets with an empty, monochrome field. Therefore it is hard not to confuse this piece, knotted in the XIX century, with an Iranian Malayer or something else, rather than correctly identifying it as a Kula....leggi tutto Here we have a rare carpet finely knotted in Kula in the XIX century with an archaic pattern of Kurdish origins enriched by small floral motifs of a subtle lilac colour.

Sig.
