This elegant antique Caucasian rug, offers us a gul that recalls the central motif of some Turkmen Tekke. These are enclosed in three large complete octagons arranged in a column plus a quarter made only in half. Only two hooked lozenges flank the column of gul in the upper part, while in the other side spaces, some stars recall the design of the beautiful main border.

Esemplare classico dell adiacente regione ad ovest del territorio dei Kazak nel centro del Caucaso. Qui troviamo la classica iconografia a ottagoni. Lane ancora brillanti dopo oltre un secolo: ora le lane di tutto l Azerbaijan risentono di limitate aree di pascolo e sono inquinate dai pozzi di estrazione del petrolio: ormai sono opache come quelle di ovini tosati morti. Rarissime le fanciulle ch...leggi tuttoe ancora annodano: preferiscono lavorare con il petrolio (poca fatica e paghe più alte).
