Caucasian Alpan Kuba rug. Knotted in the north of the Kuba area on a horizontal loom by a Caucasian shepherd between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The rare and original design in its perfect execution is highly prized by collectors. The contrast between the natural colours, burnt brown and carnelian, gives it depth and thickness both aesthetically and qualitati...leggi tuttovely. The intense shades of green and blue unleash all the charm of this Caucasian rug. The state of conservation, not perfect but still usable on the ground, suggests that we carry out some small conservative restorations. Four octagonal stars embellish the corners of the rug even if the main scene is taken by the typical cream-coloured Alpan motif that encloses the central medallion in brackets.
