Khila carpets, extremely rare in the panorama of Caucasian carpets, despite being the least pure iconographically, offer a unique, graphically advanced interpretation of Caucasian art of the late nineteenth century. Khila took up the most characteristic motifs of nomadic artefacts from the Caucasian area. The Boteh, the Herati, the Greek frets and the medallions were masterfully interpreted in Khi...leggi tuttola carpets. Here we find a unique interweaving of tribal decorative wisdom masterfully executed. It is very easy to distinguish Khila manufactures as they are proudly presented with a central medallion that interrupts, overlapping the underlying design, the motifs of the carpet field. The knotting is very fine. This piece, well preserved in its structure, is currently undergoing restoration of small parts that need retouching and reinforcement.
